  • Dino Skatepark – “Boogeyman” Single and Video Release

Long Island based Progressive Rock/Ska band, Dino Skatepark released their new single, “Boogeyman” and music video today, just in time for Halloween!  This song is killer.  The sick guitar riffs and powerful brass section are exactly what Ska fans love to hear!  The video is just what everyone needed to set the mood right today.  Dino Skatepark did a great job of taking the essence of the Boogeyman and setting the creepy mood right!

The video starts off with vocalist Dylan Belpanno walking in to a band practice late, holding a staff with a skull that he had found.  As the band begins to play, Belpanno is transformed into the “Boogeyman”, black eye makeup and a hat to match.  The video consists of all of the band members running through the woods, trying to escape the grasp of the “Boogeyman”.  As he catches each band member, the focus of the video goes back to the band practice, showing the members shackled and chained together, almost as if they are his puppets made to play sick music!  The production of this video is amazing, the quality is perfect and the idea behind the video is the perfect mix of suspense and horror!

The single itself is a banger.  Dino Skatepark put out a song that will be played on repeat heavily for the foreseeable future.  The instrumentals have a darker tone to it than what Dino Skatepark usually puts out.  I love when I hear a sound from a band that I haven’t heard from them before.  It shows the growth Dino Skatepark is going through and how their music is evolving.  One of the biggest selling points for me on “Boogeyman” are the ridiculous breakdowns it has.  The breakdowns remind me so much of the darker side Streetlight Manifesto showed on their Everything Goes Numb album.  This is what the crowd should be going wild to every time Dino Skatepark plays this song live!

Dino Skatepark’s Boogeyman” is a song that will surely catch the attention of listeners.  It has all the appeal of what people expect in a Ska song, with darker and heavier instrumentals that represent that Progressive style the band has.  Make sure to check out the music video below and listen to the single on the blog’s Spotify playlist: After Hours Review!
