Pilot Touhill is exactly what you want and need to be listening to! The feel good vibes that are heard on each song captures the essence of what Pilot Touhill strives to be. The calming guitar riffs paired with the electronic drum beats will captivate you and have you nodding your head along as you sing along to his raw lyrics. “Pilot Touhill falls somewhere between Rock & Pop with Reggae influences. I only came across Pilot Touhill because he reached out to me about his new music video for his single, “Fever” off of his 2018 album, Quiet Now. I am disappointed in myself that it took me this long to hear his music. Pilot Touhill encompasses everything that I enjoy within music; positivity, lyrics full of emotion, and an awesome beach/island vibe that makes it feel like summer all year long! The music video for “Fever” turned me into an immediate fan. The song starts off with the strum of a guitar paired with Pilot Touhill’s soulful vocals. “Fever” is about falling in love with someone and realizing you are the ONLY one for that person. The video follows a young couple and shows the true love that they have for one another. The couple is seen driving along the coast together, at the beach, watching the sunset, etc. All of the typical things a guy would do with the woman he’s fallen in love with. “Ain’t no other, ain’t no other man, ain’t no other, ain’t no other man, gonna love you like I can, fever, you give me that fever.”
“Fever” sold me as a fan of Pilot Touhill and I couldn’t wait to hear more music from him. I spent the next couple of hours checking out his music videos on Youtube and his albums through Spotify and I didn’t find a single song that I wasn’t crazy about. Pilot Touhill has this unique ability to make each of his songs a lot of fun while still including emotion filled lyrics that anyone can relate to. I love to see a band/artist that can make their music fun while still keeping with the serious tone of the songs.
Pilot Touhill released his new album, Quiet Now, in early 2018. Quiet Now is the first album release in a few years and it was well worth the wait! Like I said, I knew nothing about this man prior to him contacting me. Needless to say, I had to do my research and what I found out about this solo artist is nothing short of amazing. “Singer/Songwriter & Animal rights activist, he is active in volunteering at local animal shelters & rescues as well as working with his favorite non-profit, Mercy For Animals, an organization focused on protecting farmed animals. 100% of the CD sales from his newest album “Quiet Now” will be donated to Mercy For Animals.” That is so awesome to see. Bands and artists work extremely hard to release an album and want the money to show for it. It is great that Pilot Touhill is clearly in this for the love of music and that love of music has allowed him to take what he earns and put it towards his other life passions.
I highly suggest that everyone checks out Pilot Touhill’s newest release, Quiet Now, as soon as possible. Besides the single “Fever”, the album is filled with awesome feel good songs like “Good Vibrations”, “Plastic Flamingos”, “No Guarantees”, and “Beautiful Creatures”. Pilot Touhill stated that song writing is his favorite part of the process. He is currently focusing on writing and working on a new EP at 17th Street Studio in Costa Mesa.
