  • Action/Adventure – “Bonecrusher” Cover

Pacific Ridge Records is releasing a twenty-two track album all in honor of the amazing Punk/Rock/Screamo band, Senses Fail!  “Pac Ridge” is a one man show started by Wayne Stadler.  Plain and simple, the company is a “one man operation with the goal of shining spotlight on under appreciated Pop/Rock/Punk/Acoustic artists.”  If you’ve been following the blog, you know my exact goal is to highlight these bands (along with other genres).  I was honored that Wayne reached out to me to release some songs in support of the album. It is amazing to find like-minded people with similar goals and aspirations for their company, and I am beyond excited to be working with Pacific Ridge Records.

I am a big Senses Fail fan, so I was pumped to hear that this album was a tribute to them. Pacific Ridge Records chose some of the best up-and-coming bands to take part in this special project.  They have been releasing each song separately, with Action/Adventure up next. Pop Punk band, Action/Adventure took on “Bonecrusher”, a song off of Senses Fail’s 2006 release, “Still Searching”.  They did an amazing job at honoring Senses Fail.  Something I noticed immediately was that Action/Adventure took a somewhat heavier approach to the song.  It sounds almost identical to the original, but the instrumentals are a little darker and heavier and it makes the song sound that much better!  Blake Evaristo did an exceptional job of catering his vocals to sound similar to Buddy Nielsen, Senses Fail’s vocalist/front man.  I hope Action/Adventure plays this song at their shows, because every person in the crowd will be singing at the top of their lungs.  “The streets outside they burn with light, but I am dead on the inside.  I think these pills are to blame.  Drink up, drink up drink up the loneliness.  Drink up, drink up, drink up the loneliness.”

Action/Adventure is one of my favorite current Pop Punk bands, and this cover made me enjoy them even more!  Make sure to follow and support them, and check out their version of “Bonecrusher”!  Make sure to check out the rest of the songs that have already been released on the album; Pacific Ridge Records outdid themselves with this one!
