Turn up the volume and lace up your boots; it’s time to kick some teeth in. Today, Stonewalled unleashes their brand of unprecedented hardcore violence with their debut single, “Meet The Hangman”.
In the opening moments of “Hangman,” we’re introduced to Justin Frage’s evil-as-sin guitar leads and a thunderous rhythm section comprised of Ray Andrea (bass) and Tommy Spevak (drums). It’s only seconds before frontman Travis McMaster joins his crew in delivering a track that’s at its best when the whole band is off its chain and making noise.
Everything about this song is about building to the mosh-ready breakdown Stonewalled managed to fit in the last minute of the track. It caresses the listener through build after build until that breakdown comes and makes you want to punch the guy next to you and drink a metric fuck-ton of whiskey.
It grooves in the most violent and aggressive of ways and for that alone I recommend this song.
