Fans of synth-pop and mellow rock rejoice! The four-piece band Bowtie Fridays released their newest single “A Slice Of Life” earlier this month on all streaming platforms and it is the upbeat tune that your earholes have been missing. I had first heard of these dapper-clad folk when they headlined a show at Rams Pub back when going to see live shows weren’t threatened by life-threatening diseases. What really stuck out to me was how in-sync the entire band was and their ability to play several instruments at once. The Bowtie Fridays dudes are incredibly talented and “A Slice Of Life” shows exactly that.
“The song went through many phases” Bowtie Fridays’ lead vocalist Jake told me, “until its writer, guitarist James Young, finally settled on an upbeat groove, memorable progression, and lyrics which stress the importance of opening up to others and understanding you’re never alone when facing hardships.” Fans old and new have compared the track’s auspicious timbre and mellifluous vocals to that of The Killers and Walk The Moon, but I feel what really sets “A Slice Of Life” apart is how they are able to slice different sounds and genres to make a song you’ll want to hear over and over. If you haven’t already, check out Bowtie Fridays and “A Slice Of Life” on all music platforms now!
