Long Island’s master of word poetry and rap revolutionary Bruce “AllOne” Pandolfo released “Anodyne As Oblivion” today on all places where you hear music! The fourth single released today that will be part of the forthcoming LP “Emotionauts”, “Anodyne As Oblivion” is an “emotional body scan or a vulnerable check up focusing on the bad habits, difficult emotional paths I tread or neurosis that I’ve developed over the years.”
I had first experienced AllOne during a live stream performance this year held by Virtually Broadcasting Together(VBT). What peaked my interest in AllOne as an artist is his ability to bend and play with words, and one of the most incredible things he is able to do is crowd-source words that can range from basic to nonsensical and make completely new songs with them on the spot. Listening to “Anodyne As Oblivion” felt like a completely new experience for me: with the weight of the subject matter, coupled with AllOne’s silvertongue, the track has a completely new power to it that you can listen to over and over again. Produced by Conscious Robot, “Anodyne As Oblivion” is one of the shortest tracks on the forthcoming LP but to me feels the most unfiltered and emotional that I feel many can relate to emotionally.
The music video, also released today, perfectly encompasses the tone of the song. The video was shot and directed by AJ Formale (AJ Visuals) and features multiple takes of All One speaking to the viewer as well as himself in mirrored versions of himself. The desaturated colors and multiple mirror effects create a feeling that is so psychedelic in an anxious and jarring way that expertly pairs with the theme of the song and album.
Be sure to stream “Anodyne As Oblivion” on all streaming platforms and follow AllOne on all social medias to keep up with his upcoming releases!
