  • College Radio – “Better Daze” Review

Happy late October After Hours Review readers; have I got your latest in stellar punk rock music! Bring up your glasses filled with beverages, alcoholic and non, and let’s cheers to better days with College Radio’s latest release “Better Daze”. Based in Seattle, Washington, College Radio has quickly become one of my favorite up and coming gritty punk bands and I guarantee they’ll be your favorite find too.

The four-piece has been releasing stellar single after single this year, but something about “Better Daze” really stuck with me. Perhaps it’s the song’s unapologetic tone of simply accepting that we cannot change the outcomes of the past and all we can do is wish for an improvement of whatever we’re dealing with. Maybe it’s the fact that it sounds like one of those songs you’d hear at your local dive bar and as soon as it comes on on those corner speakers that line the space, all of your friends slam their drinks, start singing the chorus, cheersing at the end of co-frontman’s Gordon’s line of “here’s to better days!”. Perhaps it’s the sweet homage to Jawbreaker’s 1990 album “Unfun” cover art. Regardless, “Better Daze” has become my ear worm of the month from its powerful guitar riffs to the punchy percussion. And of course, you can’t go wrong with the exceptional vocal stylings that Gordon and Evan have!

Better Daze” in my opinion perfectly encapsulates how everyone has been feeling during peak pandemic and onwards and to couple that with the unique sound of College Radio you simply can’t go wrong. Be sure to stream the track on all places you listen to music!

College Radio has just announced their West Coast Tour for December, be sure to check it out and follow their socials to keep up to date with their latest releases and announcements!
