It’s Friday and that means another new music feature! Up this week is the one and only Nonstop to Cairo with their latest single, “Mac 10 Funk“! Hailing from Long Island, New York, Nonstop to Cairo is the band to keep an eye on as they blaze through the music scene. The band consists of August (vocals), Nick (guitar/vocals), Eddy (bass), and Alex (drums). With the extraordinary talent that these four guys posses, Nonstop to Cairo is the band that will keep you coming back for more and more!
I had the opportunity to hear from Nick about the recording process on “Mac 10 Funk“. “It was awesome to record live in the same room all together. And with no click track to focus on. We were really able to let the song breathe more naturally.” Nonstop to Cairo has the uncanny ability to blend elements of rock, hip hop, funk, and jazz into one beautiful sound. “Mac 10 Funk” is a prime example of the raw talent these guys have. The song starts off powerfully, with drummer Alex saying “let’s get this money mother fucker“, and it never lets up from there. Nick jumps in on the guitar and it catches your attention instantly. You know that stank face meme you always see on social media for amazing music? That’s the face you’ll make the second the band starts playing. As the song transitions into the first verse, vocalist August comes in flawlessly with his unmatched lyricism. “I heard shots you only get shrugs, but… but bodies dropping hope you rest up/ sliding silent, how we ridin’ guess they unaware/the situation dire, that fire coming from everywhere!”
Nonstop to Cairo continues on displaying their talent during the bridge between the next verse. The band lets loose, increasing the tempo and intensity of the music. What really stands out is how well the band transitions from that heavy, intense playing right into the next verse. Flawless. One thing that Nonstop to Cairo has always shown is their loyalty to their home. Whether on a track or at a show, the band always makes sure to represent Long Island to the fullest. “It’s NY til I die that’s where I’m at/ You can check ya GPS we put that LI on the map.” After the second verse, the band has a chance to show off some more of their raw talent, with Nick shredding a nasty guitar solo. “Mac 10 Funk” ends with August singing “can it get any louder?“. If I know Nonstop to Cairo, they’re going to continue to flourish and make their sound louder and louder!
Nonstop to Cairo created another Long Island favorite “Mac 10 Funk“. You’ll hear this one at all parties, bbq’s, road trips, smoke sessions; anywhere you play music!
